Bracli
The Original Pearl Thong. Spain, 1996. Luis Alvarez set out to combine two things that hadn't properly met before — fine jewellery and lingerie — and patented the result. The pearl thong. The garment was so new it needed a new name: Bracli.
The pearls come from Mallorca, from the factory that made the island's artificial pearls famous for their finish and weight. The construction is precise — pearls weighted to register as you move, the lingerie itself cut and finished to match. Jewellery and lingerie meeting properly. Not as novelty.
Three decades on, the collection has grown into bras, bodysuits, briefs, suspender briefs, and the original thong in several pearl configurations. The materials are French and Italian — Calais lace, silk tulle, embroidery — the same considered hand throughout.
