Scandale, reawakened by Maison Close
Scandale is one of the oldest names in French lingerie. Founded in 1932 by Robert Perrier — a former collaborator of Christian Dior — it built its reputation on a single idea: that underwear could be softer and lighter without giving up its shape. The house became known for the modern girdle, and for advertising campaigns illustrated by René Gruau that are still referenced today.
After decades of dormancy, the name has a new custodian. In early 2026, to mark its own twentieth anniversary, Maison Close acquired Scandale and began reinterpreting its archive through a contemporary lens. The first result is Rococo, a collection that takes Scandale's corsetry heritage and rebuilds it for now. More will follow across the year.

Is Scandale the same as Maison Close?
Not quite. Scandale is the older French house, founded in 1932. Maison Close, founded in 2006, acquired it in 2026 and is now developing the brand — so newer pieces carry both names while the transition settles.
What is the Rococo collection?
Rococo is the first collection released under the revived Scandale name. It draws on the brand's history as a corset and girdle maker and reworks it in Maison Close's contemporary style.
